UNIT 5: Financial Data and Business Decision-Making:

Unit 5 looks at how companies use financial data to make smart choices and track how well they’re doing. The big idea is understanding how businesses react to change by looking at things like profitability, liquidity, and efficiency ratios.

Some parts are easier, like using company reports to calculate ratios such as Gross Profit Margin, Net Profit Margin, or the Current Ratio. Once you learn the formulas, it’s pretty straightforward. It’s also simple to describe a company’s products and brand, especially if it’s one you already know, like BMW.

The harder part is figuring out what those numbers mean. For example, if BMW’s profit margin dropped, you’d need to explain why maybe production costs went up. You also have to look at bigger topics like financial risk, corporate responsibility, or how things like inflation and tech changes affect company strategy. Sharing this in videos or presentations takes extra skill.

In the end, this unit shows that financial data isn’t just about math it’s about understanding how companies make decisions and stay strong in a changing world.
