UNIT 6: Ethics, Audits, and Financial Truths

Unit 6 explores the ethical side of finance how businesses manage money, how audits uncover issues, and why honest communication matters. The big idea is communication not just how numbers are shared, but how they can be misunderstood or even twisted, and how different views can change what the data seems to say.

Some parts are easier, like spotting mistakes in inventories or figuring out which airplane is the best deal. These tasks help you get used to auditing and noticing small details. It’s also simple to call out clear problems, like poor security or outdated payment systems.

The tougher stuff asks for more thinking like deciding if something that seems wrong might actually be okay, or judging a business’s choices in an ethical way. In Task 4, for example, you look at Ash’s store and decide if it’s risky, dishonest, or just poorly managed. You’ll need to think about numbers and people, and explain your opinion clearly with facts.

Overall, this unit teaches you to see finance through a lens of trust, fairness, and responsibility. It’s a reminder that communication and ethics matter just as much as the math.
